Descase DC-VG-2 Desiccant Breather
Des-Case VentGuard breathers feature advanced check-valve technology that isolates the system and allows it to “breathe” only when necessary. As a result, they are an ideal solution for protecting low-flow applications with intermittent operation. In addition, the check valves provide slight system pressurization, enabling controlled breathing while preventing excessive pressure build-up.
When the system requires air exchange, the breather allows air to pass through the filtration media, where it is cleaned and dried before entering the system. This process helps maintain a clean, dry headspace and protects the equipment from moisture and airborne contaminants. Furthermore, by controlling when the system breathes, VentGuard breathers help prevent premature silica gel saturation and extend breather service life—an important advantage over standard desiccant breathers, particularly in applications exposed to high levels of moisture.

1 – Domed Cap
The domed cap provides improved washdown runoff, helping prevent water from accumulating around the breather.
2 – Integrated Nylon Standpipe
The integrated nylon standpipe provides excellent vibration resistance while distributing impact throughout the unit, eliminating potential weak points. It also promotes uniform airflow throughout the breather, helping prevent inaccurate desiccant saturation readings.
3 – External Ribs
External ribs on the shell provide enhanced durability and a secure grip, making installation and breather replacement easier.
4 – Integrated Drip Ring
The integrated drip ring helps prevent water from entering the vent holes, providing additional protection during washdown and wet operating conditions.
5 – Threaded Mounting
The threaded mounting design allows the breather to easily replace standard filler or breather caps using a multi-fit connection or one of several available adapters.
6 – Larger, High-Capacity Check Valves
Larger, high-capacity check valves provide increased airflow while maintaining a low cracking pressure, ensuring efficient and controlled system breathing.
7 – Filter Element
The polyester filter element removes airborne contaminants down to 3-micron absolute filtration. In addition, its unique loop design allows trapped particles to be released during system exhalation, helping extend breather service life.
8 – Enhanced Seal
The enhanced sealing design prevents potential airflow bypass, ensuring that air passes through the filtration system for effective contamination and moisture protection.
