OPTIBELT 1610-18 mm OPTIBELT TAPER BUSHES system provides a simple, cost-effective, and flexible connection between shaft and hub. With internationally standardized sizes, taper bushes enable fast and easy changes of bore diameters directly from stock, reducing downtime and inventory costs.

High Quality

High-quality taper bushes from optibelt are manufactured from gray cast iron EN-GJL-200 (formerly GG-20) and are supplied ready for installation.
They are available with:

• Cylindrical bores in metric or imperial sizes
• Keyways according to DIN 6885/1 or BS 46
• Included fixing screws

Operating Principle

The taper bush operates on the tapered clamping principle.
When the screws are tightened, the bush is drawn into the hub, generating a strong clamping force around the shaft, resulting in:

• Secure locking in both radial and axial directions
• Reduced risk of slippage
• Easy installation and removal without damaging the shaft

Low Torque Capability

Compared to conventional keyed connections, the tapered clamping design allows a shorter installation length.
The clamping action improves axial locking and enables the transmission of low to medium torque, in some applications without the use of a feather key.
