Features FCL 280

  • Simple structure consisting of flanges and coupling bolts, allowing easy installation

  • Bushings can be replaced by removing only the coupling bolts, ensuring quick and easy maintenance

  • Accommodates shaft misalignment, such as:

    • Parallel offset misalignment (Eccentricity)

    • Angular misalignment

  • Reduces noise by absorbing torsional vibration

  • Does not transmit thrust load

  • Available in two types:

    • FCL (Cast Iron)

    • (Other types, if applicable)


Product Standards FCL 280

This flexible flanged shaft coupling complies with JIS B 1452-1991.

  • Allowable run-out between the outer diameter of the joint and the shaft bore center: not more than 0.03 mm

  • Allowable run-out of the joint surface near the outer diameter

  • Tolerances for:

    • Bolt hole pitch circle diameter (Bolt Hole PCD)

    • Bushing insertion hole pitch circle diameter

    • Pitch

    • Run-out relative to the shaft bore center


Alignment Adjustment FCL 280

Although the flexible flanged shaft coupling permits misalignment while transmitting torque,
exceeding the allowable misalignment may cause vibration or significantly shorten service life.
Therefore, proper alignment adjustment is essential.

Shaft misalignment includes:

  • Parallel offset misalignment (Eccentricity)

  • Angular misalignment

  • Axial shaft movement (End Play)

The shaft alignment should be adjusted so that it remains within the allowable values specified in the Dimensions / Performance Table.

The allowable misalignment values shown in the table apply only when one type of misalignment occurs independently.
If two or more types of misalignment occur simultaneously, the allowable values must be reduced by half.

Misalignment may occur not only during installation, but also due to vibration, thermal expansion, or bearing wear during operation.
Therefore, it is recommended to keep the misalignment to one-third or less of the allowable value.
